Toyota Hiace ini diperkenalkan pada tahun 2004 sehingga ke tahun ini. Van ini juga memberi satu impak yang besar kepada semua negara kerana van ini mampu menjadikan sebuah penghantaran barang dan juga membawa penumpang ke sesuatu tempat destinasi. Selain itu, van ini boleh menjana pendapatan dengan membawa barang ke pasar tani, pasar malam tanpa memerlukan dua kenderaan. Keluasan van ini boleh dikatakan sangat luas berbanding van yang lain dengan kelebaran serta ketinggian van.
Toyota Hiace ini mempunyai dua jenis bahan api iaitu petrol dan diesel. Untuk petrol di malaysia hanya ada 2.7cc dan manakala diesel pula ada 2.5cc dengan commonrail turbo. memang sedap la Hiace diesel ni kerana walaupun spec 2.5 tetapi dengan adanya turbo, memang pickup ada top pun ada. tetapi kena ingat, Hiace ini kebanyakkannya diguna untuk membawa barangan yang banyak. Sebab tu la kena ada turbo. Kalau tidak ada turbo, kemampuan untuk menggerak pun terhad dan boleh dikatakan kuat makan minyak minyak la walaupun diesel. Diesel ni kan asap tebal. Jadi dengan adanya turbo, minyak pun dapat jimat, nak bawa barang atau penumpang pun lagi senang. Untuk van petrol pula, cc dia 2.7 tapi boleh la nak bawa penumpang ke. ikut minat masing-masing.
Enjin untuk Hiace ini terletak pada bahagian bawah tempat duduk. ini kerana anda boleh melihat atau memandu pada kedudukan tinggi.

Hiace juga mempunyai dua saiz iaitu bumbung panel (roof panel) dan juga bumbung tinggi (high roof). Kebiasaan roof panel ini diguna untuk penghataran seperti jnt, pos laju, dan lain-lain. Bagi high roof pula, boleh diguna untuk pengahntaran dan juga penumpang. Jadi, selamat sedikit kalau orang nak masuk van. Kalau tidak, terhantuk kepala nanti.
